Ten schools in the Palmerston North East Kahui Ako have come together to collaborate on a pathway for education for students from three years old to twenty three years old that aim to raise achievement by sharing expertise in teaching and learning. The secondary school in the community, Freyberg High School, is part of a collective of secondary schools in the central region working with the council, tertiary providers and businesses to provide a bridge between the compulsory sector and future student pathways. We hope that working together in this community will enhance each sectors practice and focus on addressing the barriers that prevent some students from having a positive pathway to their future. Our vision is: “An unrelenting collective focus on success for all” and we think we can achieve this vision by collaborating together and sharing the different strengths, interests and passions of our teachers, leaders, Boards and whānau. Our focus for 2019 will be on developing the Social and Emotional Wellbeing of our students and staff. Jaco Broodryk and Wayne Jenkins Lead Principals Palmerston North East Kahui Ako
